BGMI Air Crosses 6 Million Pre-Registrations on Google Play Store

BGMI Lite has crossed 6 million pre-registrations on the Google Play Store. More than 60 lakh users have already pre-registered for the game, and this shows how much Indian players want a Lite version of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI). KRAFTON India started Android pre-registration on 25 August 2026. In a very short time, millions of players have signed up for this game. The plan is to launch the game fully by the end of 2026, but KRAFTON has not given a confirmed release date yet.

BGMI Lite is made for players who like BGMI, but face problems because of the download size, low storage, or an old phone. Regular BGMI has become bigger with every update. On many cheap Android phones, it does not run smoothly. BGMI Lite is built to solve this problem. Krafton’s message is clear: this is not a small game with a weak experience. It is a lighter way to play the same battle royale game.

BGMI Lite Download Size Is Around 1GB

According to Krafton, the first download will be around 1GB. You will also not have to download any extra required package in the game. After the download is complete, you can install it, open it, and start playing BGMI Lite. This is one big reason why so many players are pre-registering. On phones with low storage, a light starting size matters as much as graphics.

BGMI Lite will still keep the main BGMI experience. The classic Erangel map, loot, weapons, gear, and 100-player matches are part of the plan. You will still fight the zone, look for supplies, and try to win Winner Winner Chicken Dinner. The only difference is how the game works on your phone. Extra maps and modes can come as optional modules. If you need them, you can download them. If not, you can skip them or remove them later. This gives players more control over storage.

If you are already a BGMI player, you do not need a new ID for account transfer. You can log in with your current BGMI account. Items you already own, such as outfits, can also be used in BGMI Lite.

Cross-play is another big feature in BGMI. BGMI Lite players can team up with friends on regular BGMI in the same lobby, whether you play Solo, Duo, or Squad. This is important. A Lite version works well only when friend groups are not split. Krafton has also said that BGMI Lite will be updated along with BGMI, so players on both sides can enjoy new content together.

Since the game’s return, BGMI has crossed 260 million downloads. At the same time, many players still use entry-level phones. India had PUBG Mobile Lite a few years ago, but that game was also banned in 2020 along with PUBG Mobile. BGMI Lite is not an old app coming back. It is a new Lite version made specially for India. That is why the pre-registration response is so strong. Players have been waiting for years for a light and official option.

How to Pre-Register for BGMI Lite on Google Play
